Director: Nic Uebel
Nic has been the Director of the BCM at VCU since 2014. Prior to that, he served as an Associate Director at the BCM at Virginia Tech. Nic grew up in Cincinnati, OH, but went to school at Virginia Tech and has lived in Virginia for most of his adult life. In 2013, he completed a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC.
Nic was married to April in 2006. They have two daughters, Sadie and Haddie. In his free time, Nic loves playing basketball and music.
Director: April Uebel
April (who happens to be married to Nic) has served at the BCM @ VCU since summer 2014. Prior to coming to RVA she also served at the BCM @ Virginia Tech. Though always a Hokie at heart, she is starting to embrace the black & gold! April graduated from Virginia Tech in 2006 with a BS in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise. She loves the energy of a college campus and truly believes that the “college years” are some of the most transformative in one’s life. April enjoys seeing students discover their passions and how those gifts intersect with the places God has put them. In her spare time April enjoys having tea parties with her two daughters Sadie & Haddie (not to mention being a mom), shaking it at Zumba, and writing at www.theuebels.com.
Associate Director: Ryan Goude
Ryan is from Williamsburg, VA, and is a graduate of Virginia Tech. In the summer of 2013, Ryan married his wonderful wife Karin. After their first year of marriage, they moved to the Bay Area in California for seminary, where Ryan completed his Master’s of Divinity at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (now known as Gateway Seminary).
Ryan’s experience as a student in the BCM was a powerful and transformative time in his own life, and he is excited to walk alongside current college students as they seek and experience God during their journey. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing board games, going on road trips, and watching movies.
Associate Director: Karin Goude
Karin (who happens to be married to Ryan) is excited to be back serving in college ministry on the campus of VCU! She is also a Hokie Grad, class of 2009, with a degree in Vocal Performance. She is often heard before seen, singing or humming whichever song is currently stuck in her head. Karin served on staff in college ministry and the local church while in Blacksburg, later meeting her handsome redhead Ryan.
Karin has most recently relocated back to Virginia from just outside San Francisco where she managed the best bakery in California. Her heart for urban ministry and missional living grew exponentially during this time, and she looks forward to the overlap of ministry contexts on the campus of VCU.
